Fascinating

I am somewhat fascinated by this New York State phenomenon.  People leave their boats on the shore, for later use I suppose?  I don't really get it, but what I do get now is that I was trespassing on New York State property when I took these pictures.  My friend Rachel and I stopped to snap a few pictures last Saturday and when we got back to the car there was a police officer there to inform us that we were trespassing on state property!  He told us to read the signs, of which there were none.  Nonetheless, we now know that you have to have a permit to pull off the road and take a picture in New York!  Go figure.

Baby C

So many pictures and so little time...  A couple weeks ago Rachel and I photographed my friend Heidi's newborn baby.  He was the perfect model!  I have lots of pictures but very little time to edit them.  Heidi, I promise you'll get the pictures before he is a year old! :)

Twins!

I got to take some pictures of my friend's twins last week.  I haven't had much time to edit them yet, but I thought I'd just post a little preview.  They are fraternal twins and look absolutely nothing alike!

C is for Cookie

Girl Scout cookies didn't last long at our house this year.  Here are the girls enjoying a couple on St. Patrick's Day.  Oh how I wish I had their beautiful blue eyes!

Oh baby!

Here are a few pics I took today of my friend's baby girl.  She is such a chunky monkey!  My friend Rachel and I teamed up for this one and I think we got some really good shots... in spite of my LCD screen being broken on my camera!

Guess who's turning 2!?

This girl is getting too big already!  I'm glad she let me follow her around today with my camera.  My son unfortunately will have nothing to do with me and my camera these days.  And I'd like to limit the number of pictures I take of the other daughter due to the haircut her brother gave her last month! :)

Love that red hair!

New Venture

My friend and I have decided to start a new partnership and do our photography sessions together. How great is that? Two for the price of one! We will be offering family, child, baby, and maternity sessions. I will be posting more details as we get everything worked out. As you can tell from this picture, my girls are thrilled about it. :)

Another baby one...

Why stop now? I'm on a roll. Just enjoying these actions.

More Coffee Shop Action

Before

After

Here's a little before and after. The actions can be found here and here.

No Editing

I took this in Boston a couple of weeks ago.

More fun with Photoshop

My friend came over this afternoon and helped me figure out how to apply actions in Photoshop Elements. It was a little tricky becuase I'm only running version 6.0 and it's not quite as easy as the newer version 7.0, but we finally figured it out - after a couple of hours! This action is from Coffee Shop.

Are you sticking your tongue out at me?

My friend came over this week so we could get some shots of her newborn. I think these photos will prove that I have no business photographing newborns. She was in no mood to have her picture taken and decided she would not go to sleep - for nearly three hours! She's still pretty cute though - and I got to spend time with my friend so all in all it was worth it! If I get around to it, I will post some of the other photos.

Taking family portraits is so much harder than it looks...

I took these photos a couple of weeks ago and realized I need a lot more practice.  Granted, we were limited by time (only had 20 minutes) and location (had to take them around their housing complex).  But it's teaching me to be much more aware of EVERYTHING in the picture frame.  Maybe this is just too much work for me. :)
